Well not the camera, just the button that gives me access to the camera function. Stoopid stoopid button! I haven't checked, but I'm assuming they will tell me that it will be cheaper to get a new phone, than to fix the button.
So until then, I'll just keep posting from the backlog of the tons of photos I took when my camera worked, but i was too busy to post.

In my first screenwriting class last semester, my professor went over the history of dramatic writing from the beggining of time to the present. It was a little disconcerting to see my undergraduate degree flash before my eyes in just under three hours.This is what the board looked like at the end of the lecture. See...it's all VERY clear!

My very dear friend, collaborator and the most inspiring person I know, passed away in January. I've had a really hard time figuring out how to deal with this loss. Moping around, though somewhat inevitable, doesn't seem an appropriate way to remember such a vibrant spirit. I would really like to do something to celebrate his amazing life. As spring approaches, I'm thinking about some sort of outdoor musical, artistic, ecstatic revelry. If you know anyone in the New York area that might want to join me, please send them my way.

This is a photo of the sunrise I took on my way home from my friend Katy's shoot. We shot from 8:15pm until 6am two days in row. It was awesome. I woke up at 4pm! It was strange having breakfast at dinner time. I started to feel like a vampire. Getting me in the mood to shoot my film! Yay!

I took this while I was outside panicking about my script. Made me feel better for like 5 seconds.

I'm totally obsessed with this building. Thinking about how to work it into the film somehow.

I'm also totally obsessed with the spaces on the wall of the subway station where they've pulled off and repasted a million ads and painted and repainted. They look like abstract paintings.

This is actually ripped off tile, but I love it somehow. Perhaps this makes me crazy.

But not as crazy as when I was obsessed with sureptitiously taking pictures of interesting people on the subway.

There's this crazy house around the corner from our apartment. It looks like a haunted mansion or the house in grey gardens. The yard is overgrown and full of cats. On a warm day my nostrils burn from cat pee smells from across the street. Still, I often go out of my way to walk past it so I can peek through the wrought iron fence and catch a glimpse of one of the dozens of grizzled kitties napping under the broken cars.

The city's not so big

Last weekend I went on a location scout to Cold Spring, NY. It's just an hour train ride north of Manhattan. Could it be more different? It's crazy how the scenery looks like this even just fifteen minutes out of the city. Oh, and that body of water is not the "Cold Spring", it's the Hudson River! I've never seen it look so...not brown.

Oh my god, summer is going by so fast! And soon I will be in Seattle/Bellingham! Can't wait! It gets so hot here sometimes it seems like the buildings are melting.
